Although there are some forms of online gambling, such as lotto, allowed in many states around the US, there is still a lot of red tape to get through before online casinos are allowed to be operated and played at within the US. Some states are closer to others for allowing them to open, but there is still quite a way to go before there will be any official opening.
The demand is certainly there, and right away any states that did allow online casinos to operate would see a huge increase in tax revenue from the wide usage the casinos will undoubtedly get. At the moment, there are a lot of states in the US that do have land based casinos, but they still require people to travel a long way before they can play.
To have the ability for these same people to be able to open up their computer and play Roulette or their favourite slot machine is something that would be greatly welcomed in any state, as it has been around the world. As soon as the casinos opened up they would be guaranteed a massive surge of new US members, and the money would come pouring in right away.
The issue with the casinos is how they will be regulated, and how much would be national as well as state-side regulations. It is a massive job to get the appropriate regulations in place, which is why there has not been much progress so far. It would take a long time to get the necessary personnel in place for all aspects of the casino’s operation, but at the same time it would create a lot more jobs too, even though the casinos are all online. There is still a need for support teams to be present, and of course the people designing, operating and ensuring every aspect of the casino runs smoothly.
